 This trail explores the area immediately north of Kathmandu . Helambu lies within the cirque of ridgeline surrounding the Melamchi river. Buddhist farming Sherpas inhabit this picturesque area punctuated by mani walls, prayer flags, chortens and a gompa at Tarkeghyang. This is a good trek for those wanting a diversity of culture and fine, if more distant, mountain views. This is an excellent underrated route and is especially good in the cooler months of December through February.

- 4 Nights hotel accommodations in Kathmandu on bed and breakfast basis,
