Goechen La & Sikim Sikkim Himalayas Trek is a very beautiful trek that takes you to Geocha-la at 4,942m, opposite the eastern face of Mt. Kanchenjunga 8,435m the third highest in the world and one of the most magnificent massive peaks in the entire Himalayan range.

Most of our trips in the eastern Himalaya and across the border, starts with a sweeping flight to the Gangetic plains of south east Nepal. From here a scenic drive to Sikkim with a visit at the Queen of the Hills in Darjeeling in the comfort of the Hotel, where the hospitality still retains the touch of heritage from the British Raj.

From Darjeeling with a wonderful tour, a drive takes to Yuksom for our stunning adventure on the foothills of the great Mt. Kanchnjunga. The trek begins through dense sub-tropical forests and passes vast pasture lands of grazing yaks and reaches the alpine region leaving the lush vegetation behind for few arctic high Himalayan plants and shrubs. Once in the alpine region observing constant view of the great snow capped peaks nearly every day of the trek, after reaching our high destination at Goecha-la with the superb view of the Kanchanjunga, we retrace our fabulous journey back to Yuksom with a drive to Kalimpong another queen of the hill station, after a memorable trip we drive back to Nepal border for the panoramic flight to Kathmandu.

We climb steeply to the crest of a moraine ridge where you will have a good view of the south face of Khangchendzonga. Proceeding further, we find ourselves on the foot of the lovely and sacred semeti lake, since we are not allowed to camp near by the lake so we have to camp below the lake called Lamunie camp.

Afternoon cloud build-up can sometimes obscure the view. The trail skirts the semeti Lake on its left side before ascending a series of moraine ridges on the eastern edge of the Oglathang Glacier. The trek through the rocky and uneven lateral moraine is tiring. As we trek higher, we have increasingly spectacular views of mountains and valleys to the south and east, but these are overshadowed by the panorama that unfolds ahead of us when we reached the prayer flagged Goechala. Wish anything and return to camp. Have hot lunch and start return to journey to Thangsing or Cokchurung.
